About the role:
Packages are the instructions PDQ products use to install, update, configure, and uninstall software on managed devices. We’re seeking a candidate to build new packages and update existing ones in PDQ’s package library, which is used across PDQ Connect, Deploy, Inventory, SmartDeploy, and SimpleMDM.
Candidates should bring some technical experience from a prior technical role, such as desktop support engineering or system administration. Candidates should be able to follow existing processes as well as work through challenging and unique packaging situations regularly. Having the ability to identify and implement automated solutions is a plus.

How you might spend your day:
- Use existing tools and processes to add and update packages in PDQ’s package library.
- Troubleshoot and solve complex package bugs and failures.
- Collaborate with packaging team members to improve processes and tools.
- Work on packaging needs across various operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
- Test and validate packages before they ship to customers.
- Answer packaging questions from the solutions team and other PDQ Package Library stakeholders.
- Provide packaging input to Product and Development on upcoming initiatives.
We're looking for people who have:
- 2+ years of experience in a technical role such as desktop support engineering or system administration.
- Preferably have worked in a highly regulated industry like government, healthcare, or finance and understand the necessity of following policy and procedure.
Who you are:
- Have exceptional attention to detail, dedication to quality, and a drive to completion while performing a single task for an extended period.
- Have exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Figure things out when nobody hands you the answer, then share what you learned with the team.
- Work effectively without close supervision.
- Have some QA experience. Extensive QA experience is extra credit.
